Hidden History & Food Tasting Walking Tour
Kotagede was once the capital of the Mataram Sultanate, and the traces are still there in its narrow lanes: old joglo houses, silver workshops still ringing with hammers, and the tombs of the early Mataram kings.
The walk runs about two and a half hours, unhurried. We stop at five or six tasting points — market snacks, sate klathak, spiced drinks. Between bites, your guide tells the story of the neighbourhood and why the houses are shaped the way they are.
Because this one is on foot, there is no hotel pickup. We meet you directly at the meeting point.
