After Borobudur you are not immediately rushed to the next stop. We break for lunch at a local family home, sit on the floor together, and talk with our hosts about everyday life. The Merapi jeep sets off once the sun has softened, and we schedule Prambanan for late afternoon when the light is at its best.
The whole trip is private, so the pace bends around you. Entrance tickets to all three sites are included.

Borobudur in the morning
An early start to reach Borobudur before the crowds. Your guide walks the temple with you and reads the reliefs.
Lunch at a local home
Sit on the floor, eat Javanese home cooking, and talk with your hosts about their daily life.
Merapi lava jeep tour
Board a jeep along the lava tracks on Merapi's slopes, stopping at viewpoints and a small eruption museum.
Prambanan in late afternoon
Arrive at Prambanan as the light softens, the best time for the Ramayana reliefs and photographs.
